There are some situations where your Tyre Insurance will not provide cover.
For example, the policy will not cover damage that is not classed as accidental or malicious, damage that happened before your cover started, or damage caused by normal wear and tear.
It also does not cover issues caused by faulty tyre design or manufacture, road traffic accidents, including where the vehicle is written off, or problems linked to poor maintenance or incorrect setup. This includes things such as incorrect tyre pressure, wheel misalignment, wheel imbalance, or defective steering or suspension.
Tyres without an “E” mark are not covered, and the policy does not cover theft of tyres.
A claim may also be declined or reduced if you have reached the policy claim limit, do not pay the £10 excess per repair where required, or where the damage is the responsibility of someone else, such as a third party whose motor insurance should cover the incident.
You must get approval before any repair work is carried out. Damage must be reported within 30 days, and repairs must be completed within the covered territories, which are UK mainland, Jersey and Guernsey.
These are examples of key exclusions and conditions. Please check the policy wording for the full list of exclusions, limits and requirements that apply.
